About Us

What We Believe

We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Son of God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ to reveal the divine image of his Father to humanity and to become the Savior of a World that no longer perfectly reflected this divine image.

We believe that, though human beings were originally created in the image of God so as to bring him glory, we became alienated in our relationship with Him through sinful disobedience (both Adam's and ours) - marring His image in us. As a result, we are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God-so as to once again fully reflect His divine image-through our own efforts.

We believe that the precious blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross provides the sole basis for forgiveness of our sin and the promised restored relationship with our Father in heaven. Through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus, he becomes the just and sufficient payment for our sin, freeing us from all sin's entrapments and opening the way for a renewed life with the Father.

We believe that all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By the Spirit enabled obedience of faith in the Word of God, every genuine believer is growing in Christian maturity and will be fully conformed once again into the image of God's Son, Jesus Christ, which is our hope.

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is its head. The members of the Church are those who have united themselves with Jesus through faith in his finished work on the cross. Our purpose as a church is to reflect the glory of God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world.

The five previous statements of faith are based on the following belief: We believe that the entire Bible (contained in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) is the inspired word of God and that the human authors were moved and guided by the Spirit of God to accurately convey in their own words God's revelation to us. Therefore, we believe that the Bible is without error in all matters (whether historical, scientific, or salvific) that its divine author asserts to be true.
